husband?’ I told her that he went to his friend’s
house and that I called him and, he was fine, and
he was coming to have lunch with me. ‘WHAT
HAPPENED?” I repeated. My mother said nothing
and sat next to me.
The bell rang. I opened the door again
and there was my neighbour. She hugged me then
looked me in the eyes and said, ‘Thank God, dear
daughter. Thank God for everything.’ I went crazy
what the hell was happening!
My mother didn’t want to tell me because
I was still tired as I delivered my baby girl only a
week ago. I knew what happened anyway.
When my neighbour started crying, I said,
‘was it my husband? Had anything bad happened
to him! WHAT HAPPENED, people! SAY
SOMETHING!’ As there was no answer, I went
to my room to call my husband’s friend. He did
not answer. I called another friend, and he did not
answer as well.
I knew he was killed. I still feel the pain in my heart.
15. Testimony of Rajaa Qadadh, 38, Wife of
Martyr Zaki:1
During the offensive, my husband used to
be close to home. However, in the afternoon, the
day he was killed, his twin friend, Salah and Subhi
Dughmosh, came to our house to take him to go to
condole their friend’s family, who was killed in the
morning.
10 minutes after his departure, I called him
to know if he was going to have lunch with us. He
