They killed my child. I thank God for
granting me patience to tolerate the loss of my
beloved boy.
Around 5:45 pm, a missile was fired at a black
Reno car near Al-Wehda building, eastern Gaza
City. Two journalists from Al Aqsa Voice were
taken to the hospital and they were killed. The
martyrs were Husam Mohammed Salama, 30,
and Mamhoud Ali Al-Kumy, 29.
24. Testimony of Bilal Al-Kumy, 24, Brother of
Martyr Mahmoud:1
The day he was killed, I saw him practicing
his work as a journalist, because I was a nurse
working at Al-Shifa Hospital. I was not able to
say hi because he was too busy reporting the truth.
Moments later, I saw him leaving the hospital with
journalist Hussam Salama. They drove a press car
together.
A short while later inside the hospital, I
heard a strong explosion nearby! That very moment,
I received a phone call from a friend. ‘Mahmoud
was just attacked and was injured,’ he told me. I
asked him if he was in the car when he was attacked,
and he said yes. I was certain that he was killed!
Mahmoud’s injury was in his head and
his right hand was amputated. He was killed the
moment of the attack. I called my siblings and told
them about our brother. I asked them to take great
care of my mother.
