Families Targeted by Israeli Terror in 2012
About 8:00 pm, an Israeli warplane targeted two
Palestinians who were walking in a street to the
west of Zawayda, in the middle area of the Gaza
Strip. This resulted in the martyrdom of Salim
Aiysh Abu Settaa, 24, and Mohammed Ahmed
Abu Setta, 22.
29. Testimony of Salwa Abu Setta, 45, Mother of
Martyr Salim:1
On Tuesday morning, my son Salim went
out to perform Dawn prayer and came back home.
He spent time with us talking about war and martyrs.
After spending good time with us, he told me he
was going to visit his sister to check on her. After
visiting his sister, he went to visit his friends. He
was said goodbye to everyone. After the afternoon
prayer, he came home and sat with me again until
the evening. He prepared himself for the evening
prayers and before going out, he said, ‘Pray for me,
mom.’ He smiled. He left.
It was 8:00 pm when we heard an explosion
nearby. It was so close that the people’s voices about
who was killed were heard. I heard someone talking
about my son’s martyrdom and that a drone missile
attacked him directly. I knew later that his nephew
was with him, too!
I never thought the smile that was drawn
on my son’s face was going to be the last! I never
imagined, not for a single moment that I could lose
my son and grandson together in the same attack. I
never believed I would be a mother of a martyr one
day.
