Around 7:00 am, Israeli drones bombed a group
of people who were on Barrawi Street in Beit
Lahia area, killing Bilal Jihad Barrawi, 22.
4. Testimony of Wafaa Barrawi, 41, Mother of
Martyr Bilal:1
On the day my son Bilal was killed, we were
at home listening to the news on the cell-phone’s
radio service for electricity was off. While listening,
the mobile rang; it was my son’s friend. He talked to
my husband and told him that Bilal was injured and
was taken to Al Awda Hospital in Tal El Zaatar area
in Jabalia Camp.
Rushing to the hospital, my husband and
I waited about 10 minutes outside the room where
Bilal was having an urgent surgery, as they told us.
I prayed a lot for his safety.
His condition was so serious that they
asked me to go back home and if anything happens,
they’ll call me. I went back home leaving my son
and nephew there. My cousin Nabila, 45, came to
me crying. That moment, I knew it was over. I knew
I’ve lost my son.
