29. Testimony of the Mother of Martyr Saif

That day Saif asked me to prepare lunch for
him and his friend and went to his work as usual.
At lunchtime, he came and had lunch with his
friend. After lunch, my son Mohyi Eldin went out
surprised. He told me, ‘I’ve never seen Saif eating
like this before.’Minutes later, Saif went out, kissed
my hand and said, ‘Thank you for your delicious
food, mama.’
Saif prepared himself and went out. I saw
him after Ishaa Prayer and did not know it was
going to be the last moments with my son. He went
out again and told me he will not be late. A few
hours later, nearly at 11:00 pm, Mohyi Edin entered
the house and called on me. His voice was faint that
I hardly got what he said! I looked at him; he was
crying. He told me that Saif was martyred. Israel
killed him! I did not believe his words and told him
that Saif was still fine. Moments of silence passed.
I prayed to God to grant me patience for my second
calamity after my husband’s sickness. I read some
verses of the holy Quran. A few moments passed
when my family and neighbours came to my house.
I realized it was true that Saif was gone. I knew my
son’s life on earth was over.
