Turning the radio on to listen to the news,
I never expected that the news of my husband’s
martyrdom would be the first listen to! I did not
actually believe it, as I talked to him minutes ago! I
burst into tears.
That very moment, all I thought of was my
life and how it would be. How I would raise three
daughters and one son without him! God help me
bear the responsibility.
At about 9:50 pm, an Israeli warplane attacked
Nasser family’s house in Jabalia camp, north
Gaza, killing Jalal Mohamad Nasser, 37, and his
7-year-old son Hussein Nasser.
21. Testimony of Mariam Nasser, 35, Wife of
Martyr:1
After taking a nap in the late afternoon, my
husband woke up and spent some time playing with
our kids. As our house was so close to the police
station that Israel always stroke, the whole house
shook when the station was bombed.
Still not knowing the exact target, my
husband went upstairs to the roof to see the exact
place of the explosion. Hussein, my 7-year-old son
followed his father to the roof.
I went to see my other sons, Alaa and
Mohammed, in their room. I made sure they were
all fine. I went to the roof to call my husband and
son for it was too dangerous up there. Climbing
the stairs, not arriving to the roof of the house yet,
