After a while, my sister-in-law called to tell me
that my husband was killed! Having no strength to
believe, I asked my son, Momin, to go to hospital
and make sure. I sobbed bitterly when I received a
call from my brother telling me about my husband
and my kid’s martyrdom. I pray Allah accepts them
as martyrs.
Around 5:45 pm, Israel attacked a civilian houses
in Deir Al-Balah Governorate, to the middle of
the Gaza Strip, killing Atya Eid Mubarak, 57,
and Hosam Hossein Abu Shaweesh, 39.
17. Testimony of Sabreen Atya, 52, Wife of
Martyr, Atya:1
On the fifth day of the Israeli aggression on
the Gaza Strip, my husband went to the mosque to
call for Almaghreb prayer, as he always did. After
getting used to his voice i, I had no idea that it was
his last time to do so.
As he came back home, he spent some time
playing with our 10-year-old daughter, Naira, and,
left to the mosque, he left early. He was attacked
by an Israeli drone missile that split him into two
halves. My husband was not the only target. Hosam
Abu Shaweesh was with my husband too. In
addition, three passers-by were injured in the same
attack.
I spent 30 happy years with my husband.
The day of his martyrdom, he told me about a dream
he had. He said he left us forever and that he was
